Nimbus8 runs on your device by default. When you need a hand — purchases, models, OpenRouter, or a crash — email us and include your device model and iOS or macOS version.

We usually reply within a few business days. For faster triage, include:

  • Device model (e.g. iPhone 16 Pro, MacBook Air M5)
  • iOS or macOS version
  • Nimbus8 version (Settings → About)
  • Which module you were using (Gale, Cirrus, Ashe, etc.)
  • What you expected vs. what happened

How Nimbus8 connects

On-device is the default. Models you download from Hugging Face run locally. Chat, code, search, vision, and agents stay on your phone or Mac unless you turn on something that needs the network.

OpenRouter (optional). You can add your own OpenRouter API key for cloud models in Gale and Cirrus. That traffic goes to OpenRouter under your key — not through Nimbus servers. The UI labels network-backed replies clearly.

Custom endpoints. Settings also supports OpenAI-compatible endpoints (Ollama on your LAN, vLLM, etc.). HTTPS is required except for localhost.

Mist web search and other toggles only use the network when you enable them. Nothing is sent to Nimbus for inference.

Purchases & restore

Nimbus8 Pro is a one-time Apple In-App Purchase (ai.nimbus.lifetime). Apple handles payment, taxes, refunds, and Family Sharing. Nimbus8 does not store your card or issue separate license tokens.

To restore on a new device: open the paywall → Restore Purchases, signed into the same Apple ID that bought Pro.

Billing disputes and refunds go through Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.

Troubleshooting

Model won't download — check free storage, Wi‑Fi, and Hugging Face repo availability. Large GGUF files need several GB free.

App killed / out of memory — try a smaller quantization or a model tier matched to your device in the catalog.

OpenRouter errors — verify your API key, model id, and OpenRouter account credits. Network errors are between your device and OpenRouter.

Crash — send device model, OS version, and steps to reproduce. iOS crash logs (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics) help if you can attach them.

FAQ

Is Gale free? Yes. Gale chat is free forever. Pro unlocks the other modules.

Do you run a cloud AI backend? No. Nimbus8 does not operate inference servers. Optional cloud use is your OpenRouter key or your own endpoint.

Android? Not currently. Nimbus8 targets Apple platforms (MLX, Core ML, Neural Engine).
